Network troubles - First vista experience..

Well it's not really common for me to desperately search for help with network troubles.. In xp I could find it mostly myself. But vista (I almost got a mental breakdown when trying to find a way to disable the UAC without help from the internet)..

Now both my wireless and wired connection won't work..

Wireless I should set it (like xp) to WPA2-PSK (aes) with a certain pass-phrase.. Yet I can't??? Where is the setup utility (vista only asks for my password, and then fails to connect to the network).

Wired should work by just putting in the cable.. Yet it won't work? - It says that it didn't find any response.

HOW can I revert vista so it "feels" the same as xp... (especially considering networking).

EDIT: the light on the router DOES burn though..

EIDT: well I just put the router back to factory settings and it suddenly works...
