explaining "preload" function

well this is pretty "obvious": I think it would be usefull to explain what the preload functions actually does!

Especially regarding the adding sounds/sprites functions I wondered for a long time what it actually did. I mean: I thought "preloadign" ment that the resource wasn't in memory till needed, yet how does that fit with the adding from resources? (I now believe the preloading means they won't be added to the virtual memory till needed, yet I'm still unsure).

Also how does "preloading" correspond with room switching: the manual isn't very clear about that either!
