All of the yoyo domains are down!!??

It happened 2 hours ago. gmc/www/whatever.yoyogames.com. None of them respond to ping...

It happened while I was replying to a post... 15 minutes of typing. You got to love this...

Anyway, is it just me of everyone? I hope it's everyone else it would mean I'm being blocked somewhere.

Nope, you are not alone. I just noticed this myself. Earlier today I prodded Sandy about the bug tracker server but he only confirmed that they were aware of the problem. Things seem to have gone pear-shaped since then. The fact that it's been over two hours is not encouraging. Most hardware failures should be fixes within 15 minutes. A hard drive failure might take a while, assuming there are backups to restore from.

Or maybe it's a software problem with YoYo. They appear to be making major changes to the YoYo site leading up to GM8's release. A saw today that they are looking to hire a Ruby guru. Maybe the guru they got isn't so great.

Whatever it was, it was not expected. Usualy you reroute your pages to a stub while you are doing maintenance  (on a non server farm site)

Re: All of the yoyo domains are down!!??

GMC is back up, but nothing else is working. I'm getting a "502 Bad Gateway" error which I think means the server that is routing the third level domains (www, gm8, gmc, glog) is not able to connect with the server(s) hosting the sites. On the www/glog/wiki server, pings are working and FTP is working (very slowly) but port 80 (http) isn't usually responding although it will serve a file every once in a while. Tracert seems to be showing some really unreliable network activity around London, apparently right at the host. Some of the machines are working but the connection isn't working right. I wonder if this is a DoS problem.

EDIT:
Everything except the bug tracker is working now although the network still seems to be having trouble with timeouts.
