My whole life, I've had trouble letting go of old stuff.
It seems I have the same problem on the internet. I was just glancing through the database dump of these forums. I wanted to make sure it looked correct because I may be making a major update to the forum software soon. What prompted this post was seeing unused data in there going back to December 8th, 2000. That must have been when I set up my first dynamic website for myself. The actual content, mostly N64 reviews and portfolio stuff, comes from my original static website from a few years earlier. Some of it still appears on my site! How many times have I recycled this data? Will I ever be able to let it go?
Upon reflection, this really should have been no surprise. I have stuff still in boxes from when I moved here eight years ago, stuff that was actually packed three moves earlier back in 1991.

I tried that but then something weird happened and now I can't see any of my files! How do I unhide them????

If you want to move on in life, you need to forget some things in the past. Do not worry much about hidden files that are not really that important to you now.

Sorry to be a complete nerd but that's wrong.
It's sudo rm -rf /
:3
*For the record, I tried it once by booting my roommate's Macintosh into single user mode and executing the command. Because he broke my favourite teacup. Guy was an asshole, even today I know he deserved it.
