Pycap - Python meets the PopCap framework

Python vs. GML came up in a recent topic about Game Maker's haunted return command. PyGame was mentioned, but it seems pretty lacking right now. Today I came across Pycap. It is described as:

... the ultimate framework for the super slack programmer. Pycap wraps the sweet sweet PopCap Game Framework in a super friendly high level python interface. With Pycap you can start building pretty 2D games without installing a compiler or learning C++.

I looked into the PopCap framework years ago, around the time I started with Game Maker, and found it pretty attractive. This was the original framework, not the newer C++ one, but it had a striking similarity to Game Maker as far as functionality and structure goes. This marriage between Python and PopCap seems very intriguing. Has anyone looked into it?

As a bonus, there is a Linux port as well.

Incidentally, I stumbled onto Pycap while checking out the highly amusing ROM CHECK FAIL game which was made with it. Take a look, it really made my day.

lol. I played ROM CHECK FAIL, and it's very interesting. A very unique way of playing a game. I almost beat it too, but then I died sad
